As President Obama routinely exceeds the US Constitution and carves a new country out of the wreckage he’s already wrought, he’s brought twenty or so new men and women into this heady mix. They have never been used before and their jobs exist way outside the three branches of government we learned in school – the legislative, executive, and judicial. These are the new Czars, like the Car Czar, the Intergovernmental Czar, or even the new Great Lakes Czar, though what some of these folks actually do is as murky as Lake Michigan in March or an expansive Obama speech in support of the little folks in Iran who are trying to crack open a window of freedom. …..And if you substitute the cherubic faces, toothy grins, and blank stares of Dick Turban, Chris Dodd, and Harry Reid for similarly red nosed, rosy cheeked, and dull stares of the paladins who always voted yes for President Hermann Goering in the Reichstag, you’ll find that similar “yes-man” mind-set. The utter disdain for each one’s constitution is the same. The only differences are the Brown Shirts, ties, slacks, daggers on the Sam Browne belts, and polished boots v. the Brooks Brothers suit ensembles with the rep ties that are all the rage today.

Most States Lose Under HR 2454 Consumers in red colored states will pay more for electricity to make up for the shortfall in allowances (dollars in millions). Michigan, for example falls short by more than $334 million. To make up the shortfall, red states will have to seek high-cost, non-CO2 emitting electricity sources, reduce electricity production and consumption, or purchase allowances from the green states (like CA and NY- only 10 states total), or purchase domestic and international offsets, likely a combination of the three.

TMR has learned that tonight, House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson, has struck a backroom deal with House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman regarding Speaker Pelosi’s National Energy Tax that will Cost 2.5 Million American jobs and hit every region of the country. Our source on the hill says: While Peterson managed to re-arrange a few deck chairs, this bill remains an economic Titanic for America, especially families in rural areas. Though he eked out a few trivial concessions, the core of this legislation remains the same: a job-killing tax increase that will hit every single American, especially middle class families in the heartland of America.”
It’s Not Too Late To Fight Cap and Trade- But You Better Hurry
Perhaps the most destructive legislation in our country’s history will, as soon as this week, be voted on in the House of Representatives: the Waxman-Markey tax bill in the guise of addressing climate change. It will have adverse and lingering consequences for every American. It will raise the cost of electricity in our homes, the fuel for our cars and the energy that produces our manufacturing jobs, with little or no environmental benefit. It is not too late to tell Congress to kill this flawed bill. Call your representative in Congress and ask him or her to vote no on the Waxman-Markey climate bill (otherwise known as cap-and-tax) and support affordable energy, American jobs and our quality of life.

Carol Quigley, Professor of History at Georgetown University, stated, “The Council of Foreign Relations is the American Branch of a society which originated in England and believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established.” They hold regular private meetings including members, and very select guests. Occasionally they will hold a public meeting, and invite the open press (including C-Span). The image of the CFR as a closed-shop bi-partisan discussion forum for the foreign policy establishment has fuelled criticism that the organisation and its members are controlling world policy and events. In 1938 the Council created numerous Committees on Foreign Relations throughout the county, in 1995 the Committees became a separate organization under the umbrella of the American Committees on Foreign Relations in Washington D.C..
