Campaign Asks Congress to ‘Pledge to Read’ Bills Before Voting on Them .. by Fadia Galindo at CNS
Members of Congress are being asked to pledge that they will read the bills that come before them before voting to enact them into law. “We think the American public expects their legislators to know what’s in a bill before they support it and we’re urging legislators to sign a pledge to that effect,” Colin Hanna, president of Let Freedom Ring, told  (full article at link above)
New FAIR Report Shows Reducing Immigration Would Lower Carbon Emissions
According to the report (entitled Immigration, Energy, and the Environment), Americans actually achieved more than a nine percent reduction in per capita energy consumption between 1973 and 2007. During that same time period, however, the U.S. population increased nearly 70 percent, with more than 31 percent of that increase directly attributable to legal immigration alone.  (In addition, the report notes that “the share of population growth attributable to immigration is still higher when illegal immigration and the children born to the immigrants after their arrival are included.”)  This population increase led to a 33 percent increase in American energy consumption from 1973 to 2007 — an increase that can be attributed primarily to U.S. population growth over that period.
Newt Gingrich American Solutions Holding FREE Energy Townhall Thursday
Sign up here. It’s free. We’re facing a White House and a Congress that are taking steps to restrict the use of American energy, and make it more expensive. Part of moving forward means working together, and I’ll be holding a special Tele-Townhall strategy session to discuss this on July 9th from 7-8pm EDT.
RNLA issues white paper on ACORN– Video from Glenn Beck show
The RNLA has issued a new White Paper, this time detailing activities of ACORN and its effect on Election Integrity. This paper also deals with how concerned citizens can help combat ACORN’s vote fraud. On June 23, 2009, the Republican National Lawyers Association released the following statement in response to news reports that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has moved to change its name: “The notion that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – also known as ACORN – could simply change its name and wipe away the taint from the fraud it has perpetuated against our electoral system and the American people is laughable. ACORN can call itself whatever it wants, but it is still an enterprise that is being investigated by law enforcement officials and prosecuted in the court system. It should not have any role in our government’s activities or receive even one dollar in taxpayer funding.”
