Most of my readers are on the side of liberty and I don’t mean to preach to the choir. I found this 8 minute video very succinct and worthwhile. I not only invite you to watch this, but I hope you will freely share it with your family and friends. The principles put forth here illustrate the left of today are not “liberals”, they are fascists. They do not stand for liberty, but for it’s opposite.
Big or small, please join the fight- here are two upcoming important ways you can stand up for liberty:
The overwhelming majority were discussing their concerns regarding recent events. Then one guest piped up and loudly proclaimed they were just going leave if we continued to talk about “politics”. They were tired of the “gloom and doom” conversations that seemed to permeate every function.
We all did what we were trained to do. We shut up. Then that guest spent the rest of the evening talking about crap that didn’t matter, Hollywood gossip, hobbies that interested only them, etc. The rest of us suffered in silence, missing the comfort that comes from kinship and shared concerns.
My New Year’s resolution is to NEVER allow that to happen again.
This particular person is a member of academia, married to a union member. They view the world very differently than do I and most of my friends. They don’t watch the news and would fit right in on a “Jay Walking” segment featuring photos of who’s who in the world. They vote based on who the union tells them to vote for and do not care to know the wheres and what fors. They take advantage of every government program and union offering they CAN “qualify” for (justified or not). In many instances they refuse to take responsibility for their actions and / or the consequences or results.
Whatever.
It’s their life, not mine. Their choice, not mine.
Here’s the difference – I don’t march in to their house and dictate the way things are going to be. I don’t sit there at their dining room table and mandate their behavior in their own home. If, at a group gathering, I don’t care to discuss their hobby or the brain-numbing television shows they watch, I just look for someone else to mingle with. Everybody’s happy.
That’s not how the left works.
Not on health care reform, not on science, not on speech, on guns, on race, on sex, on religion, on anything, on everything.
Liberal – that is an oxy-moron. Liberal – look it up. (that would require effort) It means- generous, open-minded, an advocate of individual rights, befitting a man of free birth, broad minded.
Make no mistake, one who declares themselves today as a “liberal”, is more likely to think like a fascist or a communist.
I am tired of the so called “liberal” mindset. So tired, as a matter of fact, that I refuse to fall prey to it any longer. In 2010, I will no longer engage in polite conversations with the very enemy seeking to restrain my freedom and dictate my lifestyle.
I urge my fellow conservatives, libertarians and true “liberals” to follow my path for 2010. Adhere to a strict “Don’t Tread On Me” philosophy.
It’s live and let live, but it’s a two way street.
There’s either going to be a war in this country, the second civil war, or fascists and communists are going crawl back into the hole they climbed out of. Liberals, true liberals, should reclaim their party.
You want a war baby, let’s go. Just remember, WE are the ones with the weapons. We not only have our loaded guns which you so decry, but we have the constitution, personal liberty, a respect for life, for law, for free speech, for the ability to better oneself, and actual facts on our side. All you have are mob bosses, the communist manifesto, your little red book of Mao and a bunch of really rude, uninformed sheep on your side.
Americans, I urge you to stand arm-in-arm with me in 2010. This may be the final year for free speech, free thought and freedom of action if the so called “liberals” have their way.
Our minds are full of tidbits of knowledge, seemingly useless trivia we have accumulated along the way.
Back in junior high, I distinctly remember learning the word antidisestablishmentarianism. I learned it with the same glee I learned the words Mississippi when I was six and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious when I was eight. Although, I must say, spelling the later is still a challenge to this day. I remember showing my new word off to anyone that would listen. I thought it made me sound smart, as if knowledge were so easily acquired by simply learning a difficult word. Those were simpler times.
Something dawned on me as I sat in the car on a recent road trip, my mind aimlessly pondering the state of the universe.
I have become that word. My battle IS delineated by that word.
Originally, it referred to a 19th century political movement which opposed the disestablishment of the Church of England as the state church of England.
Disassembling the root, and in current terminology, it is the state of belonging to the group who is fighting against those who seek to dismantle established traditions of the day.
Yep, that’s me, and thank God, a whole host of freedom fighters, liberty mavens, patriots and stalwart citizens battling right beside me.
There are many of us, and many more each day.
At some point we have all come to realize we are under attack. Our enemies are foreign and domestic; rich, poor and in between; every color, religion and ethnicity. Some who mean well, but many with malintent.
At some point we noticed it was more than just one transgression against the constitution or our civil rights. Now we realize our very way of life is being threatened to the point of extinction. Freedom in America is on the endangered list.
As the saying goes, everything old is new again.
Antidisestablishmentarianism is more than just a cool word, it is a just and rightful cause.
On October 24, 2009, President Obama signed a proclamation declaring the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic a National Emergency to facilitate our ability to respond to the pandemic by enabling – if warranted – the waiver of certain statutory Federal requirements for medical treatment facilities. In particular, this proclamation is aimed at providing HHS the ability to waive legal requirements that could otherwise limit the ability of our nation’s health care system to respond to the surge of patients with the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus. Here is the official declaration .
Does this mean anything? I can not answer that question. It does illicit curiosity, however. Due to the government’s power grab over the past several years, and exacerbated by the fact the “H1N1” flu does not seem important enough at this point to illicit such a powerful response, I became interested in learning more.
I have noted a brief summary of the National Emergency Powers Act, a report to Congress on Martial Law and National Emergency, and listed the Executive Orders that brought us to a place where, by the stroke of the President’s pen, our rights, our property, our freedom could be gone without due process or consideration of the Constitution.
At one point in life I had trust in my government. Those days are long gone. Our government no longer deserves our trust. We must stay vigilant and look to the future from a base of knowledge. It is to that end I present the following information.
The National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601-1651) is a United States federal law passed in 1976 to stop open-ended states of national emergency and formalize the power of Congress to provide certain checks and balances on the emergency powers of the President. The act sets a limit of two years on states of national emergency. It also imposes certain “procedural formalities” on the President when invoking such powers.
The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency (or public danger).
At least two constitutional rights are subject to revocation during a state of emergency:
The right of habeas corpus, under Article 1, Section 9;
The right to a grand jury for members of the National Guard when in actual service, under Fifth Amendment.
In addition, many provisions of statutory law are contingent on a state of national emergency, as many as 500 by one count.
It was due in part to concern that a declaration of “emergency” for one purpose should not invoke every possible executive emergency power that Congress in 1976 passed the National Emergencies Act. Among other provisions, this act requires the President to declare formally a national emergency and to specify the statutory authorities to be used under such a declaration.
There were 32 declared national emergencies between 1976 and 2001. Most of these were for the purpose of restricting trade with certain foreign entities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) (50 U.S.C. 1701-1707).
CRS Report for Congress: Martial Law and National Emergency
Crises in public order, both real and potential, often evoke comments concerning a resort to martial law. While some ambiguity exists regarding the conditions of a martial law setting, such a prospect, nonetheless, is disturbing to many Americans who cherish their liberties, expect civilian law enforcement to prevail, and support civilian control of military authority. An overview of the concept of, exercise of, and authority underlying martial law is provided in this report, which will be updated as events warrant.

Kennedy:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows government to seize control of communication media.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows government to take control of all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows government to take control over all food resources and farms.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows government to mobilize civilians for work brigades under government supervision.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows government to take control over all health, education and welfare functions.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows government to take control over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
Johnson:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.
Nixon:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11490 assigns emergency preparedness functions to federal departments and agencies, combining EOs 11001-11005 and 11051 into a single executive order.
Ford:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
Carter:
Executive Orders 12127 & 12148 creating FEMA :

FEMA was established under the 1978 Reorganization Plan No. 3, and activated April 1, 1979 by Jimmy Carter in his Executive Order 12127. In July, Carter signed Executive Order 12148 shifting disaster relief efforts to the new federal level agency. FEMA absorbed the Federal Insurance Administration, the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration, the National Weather Service Community Preparedness Program, the Federal Preparedness Agency of the General Services Administration and the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration activities from HUD. FEMA was also given the responsibility for overseeing the nation’s Civil Defense, a function which had previously been performed by the Department of Defense’s Defense Civil Preparedness Agency.
Reagan:
Executive Order 12656 gives National Security Council authority to determine use of requisite emergency powers
Bush:
Executive Order 13010 gives FEMA control over all government agencies in cases of national emergency.
Recently I came across an article which tied all this together:
Remember President Obama’s Executive Order basing 80,000 active troops at home for the first time in the history of the peacetime military establishment to “help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack….”
Now connect that information to the recent announcement that the military has established regional deployment locations all across the United States to “assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials.”
Civil unrest and crowd control? Significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall? What do they know that we don’t?
Swine flu has been made into a crisis in the minds of the public, even though swine flu, or H1N1, is the most non-lethal “killer” virus ever uncovered. As a cataclysmic event demanding military assistance, it ranks near zero. It is doubtful whether swine flu could even be classified as an “epidemic,” much less a “pandemic.”
Regular influenza, the common flu, kills 36,000 people every year. The 1918 flu pandemic killed an estimated 50-100 million people worldwide over a period of two years, approximately one-third the population of Europe at that time. Global swine flu deaths topped just 1,000 this year.
But President Obama is predicting death tolls of 90,000 and possible infection of up to half the US population.
While every life matters, in statistical terms swine flu is a comparatively minor problem, which makes the hype by those in government and the military all the more suspicious.Washington certainly seems to be looking for some rationale for enhanced domestic military involvement, whether credible or not.US military at home—in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. With impeccable timing, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has gone before Congress asking for the unprecedented authority to base 400,000 soldiers in communities all across the United States.
A recent US Army War College Report even outlined the conditions under which martial law could be introduced, listing:
…unforeseen economic collapse, loss of functioning political and legal order, purposeful domestic resistance or insurgency, pervasive public health emergencies, and catastrophic natural and human disasters are all paths to disruptive domestic shock. [Emphasis added.]
The CDC is finalizing quarantine regulations formulated during the Bush years that provide for quarantining “a large group of persons” suspected of having swine flu or other illnesses listed in an executive order. This means that President Obama can quarantine anyone as long as they have an illness he determines to be dangerous. These new regulations even permit “provisional” quarantine of persons not actually carrying any virus. In one section, the regulations empower the president to quarantine anyone that does not agree to be vaccinated, an ominous condition since recent investigations have revealed that swine flu vaccines can cause serious medical complications. Thousands of doctors have voiced strong opposition to the proposed swine flu vaccine, due to its association with neurological disorders. No matter, a bill before the Massachusetts State Senate would permit authorities to enter homes and detain without warrant citizens who do not agree to be forcibly vaccinated. Iowa just released a new Orwellian quarantine policy directive that states in the event of a swine flu outbreak, “your home and other less restrictive alternatives are not acceptable.” These moves appear to be the result of federal incentives advancing mandatory vaccination.
The Army hasn’t missed a step, putting out ads for “Internment/Resettlement Specialists.” And, though most of the wild claims about “FEMA camps” have been appropriately and properly discredited, the fact remains that the Homeland Security Department has signed a $385 million contract with Halliburton subsidiary KBR Construction to build such facilities on an “as-needed” basis.
If you’re not already feeling nervous, revisit President Obama’s spine-chilling campaign pledge:
We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.
With the Serve America Act, this alarming proposition has become reality. The broad authority given to this force is staggering. Section 1505 gives the newly created National Civilian Community Corps the power to address national “needs” related to “natural and other disasters,” “infrastructure improvement,” “environmental stewardship and conservation,” “energy conservation,” and “urban and rural development.” The legislation reiterates that the corps will “combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service.”
Nowhere have these two spheres ever been combined that tyranny has not resulted.
We need to all pay attention and know what Martial Law entails. We will keep an eye on events and declarations from the government and from what I call “State TV”. We should not panic at this point over the flu or over the declaration of National Emergency. Keep your eyes and ears open and know going forward suspicion may be warranted.
Lastly, here is what I found through Dept of Health and Human Services:
HHS will be guided by the following principles in initiating and directing its response activities:
1) In advance of an influenza pandemic, HHS will work with federal, state, and local government partners and the private sector to coordinate pandemic influenza preparedness activities and to achieve interoperable response capabilities.
2) In advance of an influenza pandemic, HHS will encourage all Americans to be active partners in preparing their states, local communities, workplaces, and homes for pandemic influenza and will emphasize that a pandemic will require Americans to make difficult choices. An informed and responsive public is essential to minimizing the health effects of a pandemic and the resulting consequences to society.
3) In advance of an influenza pandemic, HHS, in concert with federal partners, will work with the
pharmaceutical industry to develop domestic vaccine production capacity sufficient to provide vaccine for the entire U.S. population as soon as possible after the onset of a pandemic and, during the pre-pandemic period, to produce up to 20 million courses of vaccine against each circulating influenza virus with pandemic potential and to expand seasonal influenza domestic vaccine production to cover all Americans for whom vaccine is recommended through normal commercial transactions.
4) In advance of an influenza pandemic, HHS, in concert with federal partners and in collaboration with the States, will procure sufficient quantities of antiviral drugs to treat 25% of the U.S. population and, in so doing, stimulate development of expanded domestic production capacity sufficient to accommodate subsequent needs through normal commercial transactions. HHS will stockpile antiviral medications in the Strategic National Stockpile, and states will create and maintain local stockpiles.
5) Sustained human-to-human transmission anywhere in the world will be the triggering event to initiate a pandemic response by the United States. Because we live in a global community, a human outbreak anywhere means risk everywhere.
6) The US will attempt to prevent an influenza pandemic or delay its emergence by striving to arrest isolated outbreaks of a novel influenza wherever circumstances suggest that such an attempt might be successful, acting in concert with WHO and other nations as appropriate. At the core of this strategy will be basic public health measures to reduce person-to-person transmission.
7) At the onset of an influenza pandemic, HHS, in concert with federal partners, will work with the
pharmaceutical industry to procure vaccine directed against the pandemic strain and to distribute vaccine to state and local public health departments for pre-determined priority groups based on pre-approved state plans.
8 ) At the onset of an influenza pandemic, HHS, in collaboration with the states, will begin to distribute and deliver antiviral drugs from public stockpiles to healthcare facilities and others with direct patient care responsibility for administration to pre-determined priority groups.
HHS will follow the WHO published guidance for national pandemic planning, which defines pandemic
activities in six phases. WHO Phases 1 and 2 are the Interpandemic Period, which includes phases where no
new influenza virus subtypes have been detected in humans.
The Pandemic Alert Period includes a phase when human infection with a novel influenza strain has been identified but no evidence has been found of transmission between people or at most rare instances of spread to a close contact (WHO Phase 3) and includes phases where person-to-person transmission is occurring in clusters with limited human-to-human transmission (WHO Phases 4 and 5). WHO Phase 6 is the Pandemic
Period, in which there is increased and sustained transmission in the general population. (Appendix C describes the WHO pandemic phases in detail.)
Each pandemic phase is associated with a range of preparedness and response activities directed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, after consultation with international authorities and others, as necessary. Given that an influenza pandemic may not unfold in a completely predictable way, decision-makers must regularly reassess their strategies and actions and make adjustments as necessary. This section highlights
critical pandemic preparedness and response activities to be implemented by HHS.

The intent of the NRP is to reduce America’s vulnerability to terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies;

Together, the NRP and the NIMS provide a conceptual and operational framework to
integrate the capabilities and resources of various governmental jurisdictions, incident management and emergency response disciplines, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and the private sector into a cohesive, coordinated, and seamless national framework for domestic incident management. The federal government can invoke the NRP partially or fully in the context of a threat, anticipation of a significant event, or the response to a significant event.
After watching Glenn Beck’s “Mom’s” show, feel as though people all over this great country of ours are becoming aware of the perils that face us. I feel as though people all over this great country of ours are becoming aware of the perils that face us. I now feel hopeful because the majority refuses to stay silent any longer. WE SURROUND THEM! An overwhelming majority of citizens, particularly those who pay attention and make it their obligation to find out what is actually happening in our country, are beginning to speak out. The forces wanting to rip our country apart, to take our freedoms so long fought for, have intimidated us into silence for too long. We The People are breaking free from the mind control imposed on us by “political correctness”. “Political correctness” is nothing more than a euphemism for CHAINS – not change. It is the whip they use to keep us in our cage. The American citizenry have begun to break those chains and will no longer be held to their standard of freedom.
I could not watch Glenn’s show last night, but had to watch this morning. Our Dear Leader felt compelled to arrive late for his UN daily dose of “change” speech making sure he started just after 5PM. In my humble opinion, it was another of his immature swipes at his opposition. You know, when criticism does not appear to work, when union bosses can not intimidate and when television remotes are a constitutional right, then just preempt the leading television show of your opposition. Force yourself upon the masses, whether they want to listen or not. This may be why his FCC head and Czar are trying to remove free speech from our airwaves and internet. When you can’t control the message, control the airwaves – reminds me of countries such as Venezuela and others around the world where the government owns the conversation. But I digress.
I was surprised and delighted to see these average Moms speak of how the United Nations are seeking, and succeeding, from taking our country from us. I was surprised and delighted to hear them speak of the unconstitutional monetary policy now in play and how they fear our US dollar may be out of existence within five years, replaced by an international currency. I was happy to hear they know of the UN holding our children’s education hostage, with the help of the teacher’s union and others. They all know. They are aware of assault facing us as citizens.
Many said they had felt alone before Glenn’s 9/12 Project show compelling people to ban together. Now they know, they are NOT alone.
Glenn Beck always admonishes us that he “is not our voice” and that “we need to find our own voice”. Of course, we know we have a voice, but he is the one with the microphone. For that we are grateful. Someone with access to millions is speaking up. This encourages others to speak up.
To that accord, along with my suggestions in yesterday’s column, allow me suggest ways in which we can speak up. Yesterday I asked if everyone would send out a daily email or letter or make a daily call to local, state and federal government officials. Today I am asking you
to bombard your local papers, and the national papers, with letters to the editor. Today I am asking you attend your local and state government meetings. If you can not attend, acquire a transcript. CHANGE TRICKLES UP, not down. Fight at all levels of government. Support state sovereignty bills now pending in most states. If your state does not have one in legislation now, force them to. Do not let the bill languish in committee, as it is doing in so many states. Apply pressure.
Call in to not just conservative shows, but those with the fortitude to do so should call Liberal talk shows, write to liberal editors and confront liberal progressive friends with the truth of what they are doing. Make them think! They are so used to singing the “collective” song they forget how to think for themselves. Many belong to unions who are used to bullying them into voting a certain way. Many do not realize their voices have been co-opted by a ventriloquist called progressivism.
Our opposition is very vocal and counts on us to be quiet. Disappoint them, please. Our opposition is organized and counts on us to be an unorganized mass of separate voices. Let us learn to team up, to work together, and to at first, shout them down, then to shut them down all together.
There are many, many more of us. Do not be afraid. Use your real name. Wear a button. Get a bumper sticker. Tattoo it on your forehead if you have to. Do NOT remain in the shadow. That is of vital importance. Do NOT allow them to keep you “in the closet” as some of the Moms said on Glenn Beck’s show.
WE ARE THE MAJORITY. By working together it is not necessary that you give up your own voice. We must all work together by working separately. Influence those around you, not only by teaching them what is really happening, but by compelling them to use their voice to speak out against it.
I know in my heart most Americans are not on board with turning our country over to the United Nations. I know in my heart most Americans cherish their freedom. I know in my heart most Americans want to be free.
They are trying to turn this into a debate on race, a debate on capitalism and greed versus sharing. It is none of those. It is America versus One World Order. Plain and simple. To think otherwise is to not see the big picture, I’m afraid.

A few days ago, I came up on a posting on the Recycle Washington Website. The subject was Sustainable Development/ Agenda 21. I thought, yeah, those crazy sustainable development whack-jobs. They’re a problem, all right. Then I read the article. Even though I consider my self to be tuned in, I could not connect the dots. I thought we, as a country, were being bombarded by a multitude of different “crazies” coming at us from all sides. Now I realize I could not see the forest for the trees.
It is ONE BIG MONSTER coming at us, we’re in his hand.. and his hand is aiming for his mouth as we speak. This will take you just a little bit (an hour or so) to get through but it is imperative, if you care about your country, if you care about your future, if you care at all about freedom of choice or our constitution, that you make the time to get through the materials here. According to the UN’s Biodiversity Assessment Report, items for our everyday lives that are NOT sustainable include: Ski runs, grazing of livestock, plowing of soil, building fences, industry, single family homes, paved and tarred roads, logging activities, dams and reservoirs, power line construction, and economic systems that fail to set proper value on the environment (capitalism, free markets).
Maurice Strong, Secretary General of the UN’s Rio Earth Summit in 1992 said, “. .. Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class — involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air-conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable.”
Are you starting to see the pattern behind Cap and Trade, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and all of those commercials you’re forced to watch about the righteousness of Going Green? They are all part of the enforcement if Sustainable Development.
And one of the most destructive tools they use to force it on us is something called the “precautionary principle.” That means that any activities that might threaten human health or the environment should be stopped — even if no clear cause and effect relationship has been established — and even if the potential threat is largely theoretical.
That makes it easy for any activist group to issue warnings by news release or questionable report and have those warnings quickly turned into public policy — just in case.

Action must be taken now to control the human activities that produce these risks”Under Sustainable Development there can be no limited government, as advocated by our Founding Fathers, because, we are told, the real or perceived environmental crisis is too great. The politically based environmental movement provides Sustainablists camouflage as they work to transform the American systems of government, justice, and economics. It is a masterful mixture of socialism (with its top down control of the tools of the economy) and fascism (where property is owned in name only — with no control). Sustainable Development is the worst of both the left and the right. It is not liberal, nor is it conservative. It is a new kind of tyranny that, if not stopped, will surely lead us to a new Dark Ages of pain and misery yet unknown to mankind.
While Americans clearly voted for change in the last election, I am not sure this is the change they meant. No matter, they are hoisting it up on us like a speeding bullet ! Change is almost here. This started many years ago- and yes, it takes about 20 years for fundamental change to take place. While it started with the GATT agreement of 1947, it moved on from there. Slowly at first, but then under George Bush, Sr., then President Clinton, things started moving more quickly. NAFTA, WTO, First they made it possible for our manufacturing to move away. While we were all screaming ” Why isn’t our government securing our jobs? … Why are they making trade regulations so unfair to American workers?.. Why do corporations moving jobs overseas still get tax breaks”.. Well, all these years later, our worst fears are being realized. Now the only large scale manufacturing left is owned by the Government. The rest will soon follow or die.
Then, the started ebbing away at our 401K plans. Black Monday, October, 1987. Then over-valuation that caused the “Internet bubble”, and on from there to where we are now with much of the citizen’s wealth deteriorated to the point where many have to work years later than anticipated. But, that was not enough. We still had our homes. About twenty years ago, even after the Savings and Loan Crisis, they started making it easier for money to be lent. It was like giving candy to a baby. No longer did we all attempt to pay off our homes in 30 years. They made it easy for us to roll consumer debt into our mortgages. This went on for several years until it became more prevalent that most did not own their homes outright nor even hold the majority equity. Even though Appraisers were screaming about the abuses that were going on in the marketplace – no one would listen. I believe that is because it was part of the plan all along. Let’s not forget the “Progressive Agenda” started to rear it’s ugly head against our Constitution under Teddy Roosevelt. Eventually, in 1921, the Council for Foreign Relations was formed (see previous articles on my site) and real “progress” began. It was slow enough so we would not put the pieces together. Until Obama. They are so close now, they feel comfortable wearing their arrogance on their sleeve. Make NO mistake. This is a GLOBAL INITIATIVE. Much of the wealth lies here and so does the legacy of the Founding Fathers. We are a tough nut to crack, so they must use code, back door allegiances, and a bit of magic. There’s so much going on now it is hard for anyone that must work to pay attention. It is my personal belief that the whole “women’s rights” movement of the 1970’s was also a part of the plan. Why would they want mothers in schools watching them indoctrinate our children? Why would they want mothers home all day so they could pay attention to what is going on in the neighborhood or Washington DC. So, what better way than to say to women.. you are not equal, let’s make you equal. We were equal all along, it was they that treated us unequally. But instead of changing themselves (which is not what it was about), they FUNDAMENTALLY changed this country… with our help. They made us feel bad if we CHOSE to stay home with our kids, then they made it all but impossible. Another reason to allow debt to be built up. We would have to occupy ourselves with work outside the home, in addition to the work inside the home and the children. No time to go over every little spec of instructional material they were cramming down our children’s throat. No time to find out they were not teaching our children about the Constitution or the Founding Fathers any longer. No time to realize the UN and the Teachers Union were implementing a whole new agenda. (Give your kids and Grandkids a copy of The 5000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen and ask them to read it )
Our Government now owns our banks, too, right? Well, actually the banks own the government. That is a whole set of novels unto itself. However, this all started with the implementation of the FED. A very good book on this subject is “The Creature from Jekyll Island” by G.Edward Griffin. This has been going on since the progressives took over the country in 1913, under Wilson, with the institution of the Fed giving the banks the ability to manipulate the money supply. Catapulted further under FDR, who gave up tying our money supply to the gold standard in 1933. Then paper money no longer became backed by silver under Johnson, meaning it was purely a fictional piece of paper we could pretend was actual money. This gave the FED power to print away with nothing to stop them from manipulating the money supply at their whim. Now today we see, they can print money hand over fist without answering to anyone. The only one paying any attention today is China. Why, because they see where first Bush and now Obama are leading us. By printing money without limit, by running up the deficit to levels which can never be paid back, by devaluing our currency and instituting hyper-inflation (coming soon to a neighborhood near you), they thereby initiate another CRISIS, causing us to have no other choice but to leave our dollar for a world wide currency. This is already being discussed by Europe and the UN. That will spell the end of our sovereignty. We are already funding the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Your tax dollars hard at work, just not for you.
The United Nations is heavily involved and is leading the crunch against America. Most of their current agenda surrounds Global Governance, or put another way – death to American Sovereignty. So, what could possibly get in their way? Well, citizens, of course. That’s why they had to poke fun of the Townhallers and the Tea Party participants. Why they GROSSLY underestimated attendance at the March on Washington DC a few weeks ago. Why the media can not report it. Why no real journalist can talk about it (even OReilly). Most of the media belongs to the Council on Foreign Relations, by the way. It’s all part of the gig and the media is in on it. That’s why they have worked for years on fine tuning the Martial Law regulations, and, not to sound crazy, but why they are currently hiring internment specialists (really- I saw the ad). Not all the politicians are in on it, but many are. Long term Senators especially. That is why they have to go! The sooner the better! We MUST have term limits, too! NOW!
What else stands in their way? Oh, yeah, THE INTERNET! TALK RADIO! That is why the FCC is attempting an agenda currently to control both. An agenda already in progress. Do NOT let it happen. Pay attention. If they get us there, we’re done. Do not let anything pass in Congress. NOTHING. They are leaving everything open to interpretation, and the interpreter is Cass Sunstein. While space will not allow every detail, perhaps I have connected enough of the dots for your to see the big picture. All of the stuff that does not make sense, all the trashing of our Constitution, all of the freaks being appointed to high positions… it’s all for the end game. The end game is doing away with any meaningful sovereignty for the US. We are now at a crossroads. If you condone the New World Order/ One World Order thing that puts the crackpots at the UN in charge of you and all you’ll ever be – do nothing. If this seems like a nightmare to you, then you need to get involved NOW! Right NOW! They almost have it. I beg you. Do NOT let them win.

Please give up a few nicities, like watching television a few hours a week or reading that fiction novel. We need all hands on deck. We have been asleep so long they almost have it in the bag. We need to make up for lost time. We need to mobilize and fight back NOW. They are way ahead of us. They have armies and systems in place. Our only saving grace is there are, I believe, more of us than them. This reminds me of a time in our country’s history. How ironic.

Our government is completely out of control. Continually and unconstitutionally saddling every American citizen with unjust taxation and debt. I, personally, try to make it easier by providing a small column highlighting what is going on behind your back in our government and country. Perhaps you only have time to look at that, and hopefully take an extra minute to pass it to your friends. Maybe you can spare ten additional minutes to contact your government representatives. Maybe you have an hour to attend a tea party. Maybe you have the time to join a local citizens group to help fight back.
If you feel the government is adequately representing you, then it’s ok to do nothing. If you think this country is going down the tubes, then it is your responsibility to do something about it. Please do your part to make this country the America we remember. But do it fast, time is indeed running out. Please share this plea with your friends. We need everyone to help.

It was not the speech from the President to school children encouraging them to do good in school, as it was the after speech “lesson plan” -aka indoctrination session- that followed which upset some Americans. “As this report will document in detail, conservative talk radio undeniably dominates the format:
Our analysis in the spring of 2007 of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners reveals that 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming is conservative, and 9 percent is progressive.
Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations compared to 254 hours of progressive talk—10 times as much conservative talk as progressive talk.
A separate analysis of all of the news/talk stations in the top 10 radio markets reveals that 76 percent of the programming in these markets is conservative and 24 percent is progressive, although programming is more balanced in markets such as New York and Chicago.
This dynamic is repeated over and over again no matter how the data is analyzed, whether one looks at the number of stations, number of hours, power of stations, or the number of programs. While progressive talk is making inroads on commercial stations, conservative talk continues to be pushed out over the airwaves in greater multiples of hours than progressive talk is broadcast.
These empirical findings may not be surprising given general impressions about the format, but they are stark and raise serious questions about whether the companies licensed to broadcast over the public airwaves are serving the listening needs of all Americans.
There are many potential explanations for why this gap exists. The two most frequently cited reasons are the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 and simple consumer demand. As this report will detail, neither of these reasons adequately explains why conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves.
Our conclusion is that the gap between conservative and progressive talk radio is the result of multiple structural problems in the U.S. regulatory system, particularly the complete breakdown of the public trustee concept of broadcast, the elimination of clear public interest requirements for broadcasting, and the relaxation of ownership rules including the requirement of local participation in management.”

Ask moms and dads in Farmington, Utah, who discovered this week that their children sat through a Hollywood propaganda video promoting the cult of Obama. In the clip, a parade of entertainers vow to flush their toilets less, buy hybrid vehicles, end poverty and world hunger, and commit to “service” for “change.” Actress Demi Moore leads the glitterati in a collective promise “to be a servant to our president.” Musician Anthony Kiedis pledges “to be of service to Barack Obama.” The campaign commercial crescendos with the stars and starlets asking their audience: “What’s your pledge?” http://www.youtube.co… (here is the video in question)
This same “Do Something” ethos infected the U.S. Department of Education teachers guides accompanying the announcement of Obama’s speech—until late Wednesday, that is, when the White House removed some of the activist language exhorting students to come up with ways to “help the president.” Education Secretary Arne Duncan had disseminated the material directly to principals across the country—circumventing elected school board members and superintendents now facing neighborhood revolts. O’s bureaucrats can whitewash offending language from the Sept. 8 speech-related documents, but they can’t remove the taint of left-wing radicalism that informs Obama and his education mentors. A spokesman maintained that the speech is “about the value of education and the importance of staying in school as part of his effort to dramatically cut the dropout rate.” But the historical subtext is far less innocent.

Van Jones, a special adviser to the president, revealed his Trojan-horse strategy during a 2008 interview on leftist Uprising Radio in Los Angeles. “The green economy will start off as a small subset” of a “complete revolution” away from “gray capitalism” and toward “redistribution of all the wealth,” he said. “And we are going to push it and push it and push it until it becomes the engine for transforming the whole society.” A self-described “communist,” Jones caught heat recently for calling Republicans “a**holes.” He’s also a 9/11 “truther” as it turns out, one of many red flags in a radical past that, remarkably, didn’t disqualify him from shaping domestic policy in this White House. Jones apologized for his “inappropriate” remarks concerning Republicans while distancing himself from the nutty people calling for an investigation of the Bush administration for bombing the Twin Towers on 9/11. Jones signed a petition pushing for such a witch hunt, even though the Ivy League lawyer claims he didn’t know what he was signing. But he hasn’t been made to answer for his communist beliefs, which are even deeper than first thought.
Trying to change the subject, Jones insisted his work at the White House is “entirely focused on one goal: building clean-energy incentives which create 21st century jobs that improve energy efficiency and use renewable resources.” That doesn’t tell the full story. As the president’s “green-jobs czar,” it’s clear Jones has a hidden agenda. Judging from his own words, his environmental concerns appear to be a front for creating a massive new welfare program — complete with paid job training and counseling — for criminals. Jones has a shockingly soft spot for felons. Before joining the White House, he agitated against “the punishment industry,” which he claims profits from a “racist war” against people of color. He has called U.S. prisons “slave ships on dry land” and has served on panels calling for an end to prisons and the freeing of all inmates. The former Oakland, Calif., community organizer has said he wants to “build a pipeline from the prison economy to the green economy,” including hiring parolees to weatherize homes and offices. He secured grants to start a Green Job Corps in Oakland.
In his 2006 memoir, President Obama proposed government-subsidized green jobs “to hire and train ex-felons on projects” such as “insulating homes and offices to make them energy-efficient.” Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, who worked with Jones in California as a congresswoman, has already put such plans in motion. Jones’ “green jobs, not jails” program is but a “radical kernel” of what Jones says he wants to reap. He intends to use the green movement as a Trojan horse to socialize the entire economy. “Right now we say we want to move from suicidal gray capitalism to ‘eco-capitalism’ where at least we’re not fast-tracking the destruction of the whole planet,” Jones said. “Will that be enough? No, it won’t be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression altogether.”
Beyond our system of capitalism to communism, is what he means. Though Obama’s father was a Marxist, there’s no indication the president subscribes to Jones’ vision. But Obama and Jones share a common background in the same Marxism-steeped faith: Black Liberation Theology, which we first warned voters about years ago. The father of the movement — James Cone — believes that by merging Marxism with the Gospel, African-Americans will be liberated. “Together,” Cone said, “black religion and Marxist philosophy may show us a way to build a completely new society.” Cone mentored Obama’s longtime preacher, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a big fan of Marxist regimes. Wright has made a number of comments over the years that have been described as anti-capitalist and anti-American, and that suggest he believes deep conspiracies drive American politics. We also warned that it’s dangerous for a presidential aspirant to surround himself throughout his career with a coterie of radicals. They could wind up in the White House making policy. Obama Regulation Czar Advocated Removing People’s Organs Without Explicit Consent from CNS News
Cass Sunstein, President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has advocated a policy under which the government would “presume” someone has consented to having his or her organs removed for transplantation into someone else when they die unless that person has explicitly indicated that his or her organs should not be taken. Under such a policy, hospitals would harvest organs from people who never gave permission for this to be done.
Outlined in the 2008 book “Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness,” Sunstein and co-author Richard H. Thaler argued that the main reason that more people do not donate their organs is because they are required to choose donation. Sunstein and Thaler pointed out that doctors often must ask the deceased’s family members whether or not their dead relative would have wanted to donate his organs. These family members usually err on the side of caution and refuse to donate their loved one’s organs. “The major obstacle to increasing [organ] donations is the need to get the consent of surviving family members,” said Sunstein and Thaler. This problem could be remedied if governments changed the laws for organ donation, they said. Currently, unless a patient has explicitly chosen to be an organ donor, either on his driver’s license or with a donor card, the doctors assume that the person did not want to donate and therefore do not harvest his organs. Thaler and Sunstein called this “explicit consent.” They argued that this could be remedied if government turned the law around and assumed that, unless people explicitly choose not to, then they want to donate their organs – a doctrine they call “presumed consent.” “Presumed consent preserves freedom of choice, but it is different from explicit consent because it shifts the default rule. Under this policy, all citizens would be presumed to be consenting donors, but they would have the opportunity to register their unwillingness to donate,” they explained.

A thorough cover-to-cover reading of almost any high school history text leaves you with the impression that the United States is at best embarrassing, and at worst a menace to world peace.Did shielding children from scary words like “mailman” turn them into better students? Compare the test scores in your kids’ school district to those from 1960, and judge for yourself. Or consider this: When asked about the Vietnam War recently, almost a quarter of students described it as a conflict between North and South Korea.
Yet even flat ignorance is better (and certainly more amusing) than the hard-edged propaganda that now suffuses history textbooks. A thorough cover-to-cover reading of almost any high school history text leaves you with the impression that the United States is at best embarrassing, and at worst a menace to world peace. The internment of Japanese-Americans during World War Two gets almost us much emphasis as the American liberation of Europe. Non-American cultures, by contrast, receive every benefit of every doubt. Try to find a high school textbook that even mentions the widespread practice of slavery among American Indians. Good luck. Even September 11, an event hardly shrouded by the haze of time, gets a rewrite. In Prentice Hall’s textbook on contemporary American history, for instance, the 19 hijackers are not identified as Islamic extremists. Students are left to guess why they did it.
Don’t take my word for it. Make a pledge to yourself to look through your children’s textbooks this year. Take a look at what’s there, but also at what’s missing. If you find bias or distortions, don’t be silent. Raise holy hell. Someday your kids will thank you for it. The Constitution and American Sovereignty by Mr. Black at WeThePeople
“WOULD WE be far wrong,” President Lincoln asked in a special message to Congress in 1861, “if we defined [sovereignty] as a political community without a political superior?” Maybe that’s not exhaustive, but it comes on good authority. And notice that for Lincoln, sovereignty is a political or legal concept. It’s not about power. Lincoln didn’t say that the sovereign is the one with the most troops. He was making a point about rightful authority….
The Constitution provides for treaties, and even specifies that treaties will be “the supreme Law of the Land”; that is, that they will be binding on the states. But from 1787 on, it has been recognized that for a treaty to be valid, it must be consistent with the Constitution—that the Constitution is a higher authority than treaties. And what is it that allows us to judge whether a treaty is consistent with the Constitution? Alexander Hamilton explained this in a pamphlet early on: “A treaty cannot change the frame of the government.” And he gave a very logical reason: It is the Constitution that authorizes us to make treaties. If a treaty violates the Constitution, it would be like an agent betraying his principal or authority. And as I said, there has been a consensus on this in the past that few ever questioned. Let me give you an example of how the issue has arisen. In 1919, the United States participated in a conference to establish the International Labour Organization (ILO). The original plan was that the members of the ILO would vote on labor standards, following which the member nations would automatically adopt those standards. But the American delegation insisted that it couldn’t go along with that, because it would be contrary to the Constitution. Specifically, it would be delegating the treaty-making power to an international body, and thus surrendering America’s sovereignty as derived from the Constitution. Instead, the Americans insisted they would decide upon these standards unilaterally as they were proposed by the ILO. In the 90 years since joining this organization, I think the U.S. has adopted three of them.
Today there is no longer a consensus regarding this principle of non-delegation, and it has become a contentious issue. For instance, two years ago in the D.C. Court of Appeals, the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), an environmental group, sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), claiming that it should update its standards for a chemical that is thought to be depleting the ozone layer. There is a treaty setting this standard, and the EPA was in conformity with the treaty. But the NRDC pointed out that Congress had instructed the EPA to conform with the Montreal Protocol and its subsequent elaborations. In other words, various international conferences had called for stricter emission standards for this chemical, and Congress had told the EPA to accept these new standards as a matter of course. The response to this by the D.C. Court of Appeals was to say, in effect, that it couldn’t believe Congress had meant to do that, since Congress cannot delegate its constitutional power and responsibility to legislate for the American people to an international body. This decision wasn’t appealed, so we don’t yet have a Supreme Court comment on the issue.
The delegation of judicial power is another open question today. There’s no doubt that the U.S. can agree to arbitrations of disputes with foreign countries, as we did as early as the 1790s with the Jay Treaty. But it’s another thing altogether to say that the rights of American citizens in the U.S. can be determined by foreign courts. This would seem to be a delegation of the judicial power, which Article 3 of the Constitution says “shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” This became an issue last year in the case of Medellin v. Texas, which considered an International Court of Justice ruling that Texas could not execute a convicted murderer, because he had not been given the chance to consult the Mexican consulate before his trial, as he had the right to do under an international treaty. The Supreme Court, after much hand-wringing, concluded that it didn’t think the Senate had intended to give the International Court of Justice the power to decide these questions of American law as applied by American courts. I would go further and say that no matter what the Senate intended, this is not a power which can be delegated under the Constitution. But it is no longer clear that a majority on the Supreme Court would agree.
Or consider the Spanish judges who want to arrest American politicians if they venture into Europe, in order to try them for war crimes. This is preposterous. It is akin to piracy. And not only has our government not protested this nonsense, but it has contributed to building up an international atmosphere in which this sort of thing seems plausible—an atmosphere where the old idea of a jury of one’s peers and the idea of Americans having rights under the Constitution give way to the notion of some hazy international standard of conduct that everyone in the world can somehow agree upon and then enforce on strangers….
It is important to think about these issues regarding sovereignty today, because it is possible to lose sovereignty rather quickly. Consider the European Union. The process that led to what we see today in the EU began when six countries in 1957 signed a treaty agreeing that they would cooperate on certain economic matters. They established a court in Luxembourg—the European Court of Justice—which was to interpret disputes about the treaty. To make its interpretations authoritative, the Court decreed in the early 1960s that if the treaty came into conflict with previous acts of national parliaments, the treaty would take precedence. Shortly thereafter it declared that the treaty would also take precedence over subsequent statutes. And in the 1970s it said that even in case of conflicts between the treaty and national constitutions, the treaty would take precedence. Of course, judges can say whatever they want. What is more remarkable is that all the nations in the EU have more or less grudgingly accepted this idea that a treaty is superior to their constitutions, so that today whatever regulations are cranked out by the European Commission—which is, not to put too fine a point on it, a bureaucracy—supersede both parliamentary statutes and national constitutions. And when there was eventually a lot of clamor about protection of basic rights, the court in Luxembourg proclaimed that it would synthesize all the different rights in all the different countries and take care of that as well…..

The national flag of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) will be hoisted at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on September 20, media reported Sunday. Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC. Chen Ronghua, chairman of Fujian Association of the United States, told reporters that their application was approved not only because of the sound Sino-US relations but also because China is a responsible country. “Many Americans admire China due to the success of last year’s Beijing Olympics,” said Chen. More than 1,000 people will attend the ceremony and the performances held after it, according to Zhao Luqun, who will direct the performances. Zhao said the performances will demonstrate the friendship, magnanimous spirit and kindness of modern Chinese people.

The health care bill under consideration in the House of Representatives would give President Obama the authority to name a new federal “Health Choices Commissioner” who would have sweeping power to govern the health insurance plans offered in a so-called “exchange” where millions of Americans would get their health insurance if the bill is enacted. These powers would include deciding which treatments are covered, which companies can participate, which states can run their own exchange, and enrolling individuals into the public exchange. Though the bill, House Resolution 3200, faces many political hurdles, it has passed three House committees and could be ready for a floor vote after Congress returns from recess. The overhaul package calls for establishing a health insurance exchange where people earning up to 400 percent of the poverty level will be able to purchase health insurance with the help of federal subsidies. This exchange would include a “public option” government-run health care plan as well as private plans that provide a minimum benefits package dictated by the government. The Health Choices Commissioner would establish “the benefits to be made available under Exchange-participating health benefit plans during each plan year,” according to page 84 of the 1,018-page bill. That means the commissioner would determine what benefits the participating insurance companies must offer participating customers in the exchange.
An opponent of government healthcare programs had part of a finger bit off during a fight at a pro-healthcare-reform rally this week in Thousand Oaks. The incident was reported at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday at Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive, where more than 100 people gathered for the pro-healthcare-reform vigil. About 15 people opposed to President Obama’s healthcare reform stood across the street from Moveon.org’s group. Members of Code Pink: Women for Peace also were there, authorities said. Rice got involved in a heated discussion with a member of Code Pink, said sheriff’s Capt. Ross Bonfiglio, a department spokesman. After the argument, Rice returned to where his group was standing. An unidentified man then walked from Moveon.org’s area toward the opponents and verbally confronted Rice, allegedly calling him names and acting aggressively, Bonfiglio said. Rice told investigators he felt threatened by the man and punched him in the nose, Bonfiglio said. A fight ensued, during which part of Rice’s finger was bitten off, Bonfiglio said. Rice drove himself to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Another man found the bitten-off portion of the finger and took it to Rice at the hospital, Bonfiglio said. Doctors told Rice the pinky, severed near the second knuckle, could not be reattached because of high bacteria levels from a human bite, he told the Ventura County Star.

Last month, Patrick Courrielche, a Los Angeles-based arts consultant, was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts to join a 75-person conference call “to help lay a new foundation for growth, focusing on core areas of the recovery agenda – health care, energy and environment, safety and security, education, community renewal,’’ according to the invitation.
Pardon me? The taxpayer-funded NEA is trying to recruit sympathetic artists to push the Obama agenda? Yes, it sounds wacky, and it sounded wacky to Courrielche, too. “Artists shouldn’t be used as tools of the state to help create a climate amenable to their positions, which is what appears to be happening in this instance,’’ Courrielche wrote in an Internet post. Speaking on the phone, he explained in greater detail how the organizers – NEA communications director Yosi Sargent, a promoter of Shepard Fairey’s famous “Hope’’ poster; Buffy Wicks, a former Obama field organizer now with the White House Office of Public Engagement, and three others – “said we had the ability to shape the people around us.’’
“The NEA was not created to encourage artists to address issues,’’ he said, and he’s right. State-sponsored agitprop, or agitational propaganda, is a tool usually associated with totalitarian regimes. According to its website, the NEA sucks down about $150 million a year from Congress, to support “excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education.’’ This year, for instance, the endowment gave over $1 million to Massachusetts nonprofits “threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn,’’ among other local grants.

• As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate. As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:
What is the President trying to tell me?
What is the President asking me to do?
What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?
• Students can record important parts of the speech where the President is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?
• Students can record any questions they have while he is speaking and then discuss them after the speech. Younger children may need to dictate their questions.

These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.” Teachers are also given guidance to tell students to “build background knowledge about the president of the United States by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama.” During the speech, “teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful.” For grades 7-12, the Department of Education suggests teachers prepare by excerpting quotes from Obama’s speeches on education for their students to contemplate — and ask as questions such as “Why does President Obama want to speak with us today? How will he inspire us? How will he challenge us?” Activities suggested for after the speech include asking students “what resonated with you from President Obama’s speech? What lines/phrase do you remember?”

Pelosi and Frank – at it again- attempted co-opting the only good piece of legislation this year
A year ago, no one in the political establishment would have believed that a bill to thoroughly audit the Fed would have almost two-thirds of the House (including every Republican representative and nearly one hundred Democrats) and a quarter of the Senate on board. Certainly, no one would have bet that three-fourths of the American people would support such an audit. As many of you may have heard by now, recent statements from Representative Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, have indicated that the House will vote on Audit the Fed in the next few months.However, rather than voting on HR 1207 as a standalone bill, many in Congress hope to roll it into the comprehensive regulatory reform package recently proposed by the White House. This reform package grants new, more comprehensive powers to the Fed and strengthens the government’s control over our economy. Campaign for Liberty and other friends of liberty stand in opposition to this proposal, as well as any other attempt to convert this historic movement for transparency into yet another rubber-stamping of politics as usual. It is imperative that Audit the Fed come before the House and Senate on its own merits. The American people stand behind a thorough audit of the Fed, and we should not be adding additional powers when we don’t fully know what is being done with the ones they currently have. US Funds UN Group That Supports Teaching 5-to-8-Year Olds about Masturbation
A United Nations group that supports teaching 5-to-8-year-olds about masturbation is partly funded by the United States, which will contribute $78.1 million in the 2010 fiscal year to the group, according to the State Department. As CNSNews.com previously reported, the U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) released its International Guidelines for Sexual Educationin June, and among the topics to discuss with 5-to-8-year-olds, according to the report, is “masturbation” and that “girls and boys have private body parts that can feel pleasurable when touched by oneself.” Although the United States endured tension with the group and even withdrew its membership for two decades, President George W. Bush announced in 2002 that the United States would rejoin UNESCO, with funding to re-commence in FY2004 at $84.1 million. Since then, the United States has contributed nearly $536 million to the organization. Bush told the U.N. General Assembly in 2002, “As a symbol of our commitment to human dignity, the United States will return to UNESCO. This organization has been reformed and America will participate fully in its mission to advance human rights and tolerance and learning.” UNESCO’s biennial budget for 2008-09 was $631 million, or approximately $315.5 million per year in that period. The United States gave $75.1 million in 2009, which is about 25 percent of UNESCO’s annual budget. While UNESCO was originally set up chiefly to advance education, some critics say the Internet has rendered that task obsolete, and the lack of a clear mission has now translated into concerns about waste, fraud and abuse. Additionally, UNESCO has taken controversial, far-left positions and has been perceived as increasingly anti-American since its ranks grew to 193 nations, many of them from the third world.
Childhood Obesity Report Calls For Government Regulations to Limit Access to ‘Unhealthy’ Restaurant Chainsfrom CNS News
A newly released report by the Institute for Medicine and the National Research Council details strategies for local governments to combat what it calls an epidemic of childhood obesity, including enacting zoning and land-use regulations that would “restrict fast food establishments near school grounds and public playgrounds.” The report, “Local Government Actions to Prevent Childhood Obesity,” was compiled by the Committee on Childhood Obesity Prevention Actions for Local Governments, a committee of health care professionals, academics, and policy makers. The report offers nine “action strategies” for healthy eating and three “actions for increasing physical activities.” The report, unveiled at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington on Tuesday, also advises local governments to impose higher taxes “to discourage consumption of foods and beverages that have minimal nutritional value” and to mandate that chain restaurants (those with 20 or more stores) provide caloric information on menus. When asked by CNSNews.com if regulating where restaurants can be built could harm communities by taking away jobs, committee members said the report presents “options” and that studies show that fast food restaurants are disproportionately located in low-income and minority neighborhoods.
On August 11th, President Obama held a conference call with all his special interest allies in order to push renaming 09/11 as our National Day of Service instead of keeping the day for strict remembrance of those who perished in the awful and unjust terrorist attacks on our country. Their feeling is that the Republican Party owns this day, according to some reports, and this would be a way to “capture” the day for the Democrats. What horrendous thinking, illustrative of what is wrong with this country. The resolution, introduced in the Senate by Charles Shummer (D-NY) as S.245, then in the House as HR 718, by Doris Matsui (D-CA) was being furthered by the President by consulting this hand-picked assemblage. Groups on the call included: ACORN, AFL-CIO, Apollo Alliance, Color of Change, Community Action Partnership, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, 80 Million Strong for Young American Jobs, Friends of the Earth, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Mobilize.org, National Black Police Association, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, National Council of Negro Women, National Wildlife Federation, RainbowPUSH Coalition, Urban League, Young Democrats of America.

Acorn, says Stern, grew out of “one of the New Left’s silliest and most destructive groups, the National Welfare Rights Organization.” In the 1960’s, NWRO launched a campaign of sit-ins and disruptions at welfare offices. The goal was to remove eligibility restrictions, and thus effectively flood welfare rolls with so many clients that the system would burst. The theory, explains Stern, was that an impossibly overburdened welfare system would force “a radical reconstruction of America’s unjust capitalist economy.” Instead of a socialist utopia, however, we got the culture of dependency and family breakdown that ate away at America’s inner cities — until welfare reform began to turn the tide. While Acorn holds to NWRO’s radical economic framework and its confrontational 1960’s-style tactics, the targets and strategy have changed. Acorn prefers to fly under the national radar, organizing locally in liberal urban areas — where, Stern observes, local legislators and reporters are often “slow to grasp how radical Acorn’s positions really are.” Acorn’s new goals are municipal “living wage” laws targeting “big-box” stores like Walmart, rolling back welfare reform, and regulating banks — efforts styled as combating “predatory lending.” Unfortunately, instead of helping workers, Acorn’s living-wage campaigns drive businesses out of the very neighborhoods where jobs are needed most. Acorn’s opposition to welfare reform only threatens to worsen the self-reinforcing cycle of urban poverty and family breakdown.
A group of dissident members is seeking a federal investigation of ACORN for alleged criminal violations stemming from an embezzlement scandal that rocked the organization last year. The splinter group, ACORN 8, released a 24-page document in January, 2009, that asks federal investigators to consider fraud, embezzlement and conspiracy charges, and criminal civil rights violations relating to the embezzlement of nearly $1 million from the nonprofit’s accounts and an alleged cover-up of the theft for almost a decade. “Moreover, due to the admission that a felony has been committed, other federal offenses may have also been committed … ,” states the document signed by 14 members of ACORN 8, including recently expelled members of ACORN’s national board of directors.

The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry. This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year’s election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it’s not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing. The administration’s plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs.
The plan is to turn a “day of fear” that helps Republicans into a day of activism called the National Day of Service that helps the left. In other words, nihilistic liberals are planning to drain 9/11 of all meaning. They think it needs to be taken back from the right,” said the source. “They’re taking that day and they’re breaking it because it gives Republicans an advantage. To them, that day is a fearful day.”
A coalition including the unsavory left-wing pressure group Color of Change and about 60 far-left, environmentalist, labor, and corporate shakedown groups participated in the call. Color of Change is the extremist racial grievance group that isn’t happy that TV’s Glenn Beck did several news packages on Van Jones, the self-described “communist” and “rowdy black nationalist” who became the president’s green jobs czar after jumping on the environmentalist bandwagon. The White House may be behind a push to destroy Beck by convincing advertisers to stop buying time on his show. Jones was also on the board of the Apollo Alliance, a hard-left environmentalist group that is now running large chunks of the Obama administration. The group has acknowledged that it dictated parts of the February stimulus bill to Congress.

A: I think it’s going to help us. He hasn’t been around for some time. We’re going to have a new chairman of that committee, it’ll be, I don’t know for sure, but I think Sen. (Chris) Dodd, (D-Conn.). He has a right to take it. Either him or (U.S. Sen. Tom) Harkin, (D-Iowa), whichever one wants it can have it. I think he (Kennedy) will be a help. He’s an inspiration for us. That was the issue of his life and he didn’t get it done.
It seems that a lot of conservative and then some not so conservative pundits are wondering out loud “who’s in charge of the Obama administration?” It’s obviously not Barack Obama given that the Congress is running circles around the Executive Branch with legislation so radical that most of it will have little or no chance of passing. Even members of the President’s cabinet are refusing to toe the line i.e. Attorney General Eric Holder, who has just announced that he will be re-re-investigating members of the CIA with a view toward punishing those who appear to have crossed the line in the enhanced interrogation department. This decision was announced after the President insisted there would be no further investigations. Could it be that Barack Obama is a straw man? If I were given to rampant paranoia, I would wonder whether or not there is a powerful puppet master pulling the president’s strings. The one name that immediately comes to mind is George Soros, the Democrats’ far left billionaire partisan. President Obama just “loaned” $2 billion of taxpayers’ money to Petrobras, the Brazilian national oil company, of which Soros is a major shareholder. The purpose of the cash is to finance off-shore oil exploration in the Atlantic Ocean, near Rio de Janeiro, with a possibility of that “loan” eventually climbing to $10 billion. ……

Here is the antidote to Nationalized Health Care. It’s our government and we should be able to do what is best for us. I propose that we throw the whole Congress and Senate out of office. Institute six (6) year term limits retroactively in the house and twelve (12) years in the Senate, and refuse to allow them to become bureaucrats by playing musical chairs… no skipped second term. Take away their ability to vote themselves raises and retroactively take away their lifetime pensions, tie their raises to the cost of living. Make this a true opportunity to serve our country. This would suggest that someone working on taxpayer time, in a taxpayer funded office, using taxpayer funded email servers to contact taxpayer employees, deliberately chose to use the phrase “tea baggers” instead of “Tea Partiers.” (“tea baggers” is an explicit sexual term whose definition can be found at wikipedia.com)
Federal Communications Commission Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd called on fellow liberals to follow the model of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and challenge conservative media moguls and station owners, particularly figures such as Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch, and “a pro-big business Supreme Court aligned” with them. Lloyd made the call in a 2007 article for the liberal Center for American Progress while he was a senior fellow there. Entitled “Media Maneuvers: Why the Rush to Waive Cross-Ownership Bans,” the article ostensibly talks about the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) decision to allow Chicago real estate mogul Sam Zell to purchase the then-failing Chicago Tribune Co., owner of the Chicago Tribune newspaper. Lloyd, however, uses the Zell case, in which Zell ultimately prevailed, to make a broader argument that liberals should look to the tactics employed by FDR to combat his conservative critics in the media, saying that liberals must challenge outspoken conservatives who own media outlets. “Progressives should take a page from FDR’s media diversity playbook,” Lloyd wrote. “[A]t the end of a second FDR administration [in 1940] when the New Dealers were still battling a conservative print media and a conservative Supreme Court to fix the great debacle of American capitalism – the Great Depression. “FDR’s fireside chats and his ready access to radio allowed him to speak directly to Americans and continue to push a progressive agenda,” said Lloyd. “But FDR was becoming increasingly concerned about the purchase of radio operations by the newspaper publishers.”

By a nudge we mean anything that influences our choices. A school cafeteria might try to nudge kids toward good diets by putting the healthiest foods at front. We think that it’s time for institutions, including government, to become much more user-friendly by enlisting the science of choice to make life easier for people and by gentling nudging them in directions that will make their lives better.

A black bloc is a group of protesters dressed in black, who often cooperate in small, autonomous affinity groups to resist police. There may be several black blocs within a particular protest, with different aims and tactics. Black blocs tend to be anarchist-themed, and may include members of union flying squads, anarchists, situationists, pagans, communists and other anti-racist, anti-capitalist, and anti-fascist groups. What defines a black bloc is not ideology but action in self-defense of the larger group of protesters. They are named for the typical black garb they wear for uniformity. Many also wear masks and scarves over their faces, to avoid identification, to protect their faces against tear gas and pepper spray, and for symbolic purposes. Typical actions of a black bloc are distracting police, misleading police about protester motions, ‘unarresting’ people already arrested by police, administering first aid to persons affected by tear gas in areas where protestors are barred from entering, building barricades, attacking/disarming police, and unmasking police who pose as black blockers (easily identified as they attack protestors). Some black blockers also engage in vandalism and rioting. Although black blocking is usually connected with some form of direct action, black blocs also participate in wholly symbolic action, as well as action that falls entirely within traditional definitions of nonviolence. Property destruction carried out by black blocs tends to have symbolic significance: favorite targets include banks, institutional buildings, outlets for multinational corporations, pornography and sex shops, gasoline stations, and videosurveillance cameras. Groups such as the WOMBLES and Wild Greens advocate participating in black bloc activity, and have similar mandates. Groups that have engaged in similar forms of action include Radical Anti-Capitalist Blocs, Anti-Racist Action, and Anti-Fascist Action.

For once, the American Civil Liberties Union has nothing bad to say about the latest case of secret domestic surveillance — because it is the ACLU that committed the spying. Last week, The Washington Post reported on a new Justice Department inquiry into photographs of undercover CIA officials and other intelligence personnel taken by ACLU-sponsored researchers assisting the defense team of Guantanamo Bay detainees. According to the report, the pictures of covert American CIA officers — “in some cases surreptitiously taken outside their homes” — were shown to jihadi suspects tied to the 9/11 attacks in order to identify the interrogators. The ACLU undertook the so-called “John Adams Project” with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers — last seen crusading for convicted jihadi assistant Lynne Stewart. She’s the far-left lawyer who helped sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, convicted 1993 World Trade Center bombing and N.Y. landmark bombing plot mastermind, smuggle coded messages of Islamic violence to outside followers in violation of an explicit pledge to abide by her client’s court-ordered isolation. The ACLU’s team used lists and data from “human rights groups,” European researchers and news organizations that were involved in “(t)racking international CIA-chartered flights” and monitoring hotel phone records. Working from a witch-hunt list of 45 CIA employees, the ACLU team tailed and photographed agency employees or obtained other photos from public records. And then they showed the images to suspected al-Qaida operatives implicated in murdering 3,000 innocent men, women and children on American soil. Where is the concern for the safety of these American officers and their families? Where’s the outrage from all the indignant supporters of former CIA agent Valerie Plame, whose name was leaked by Bush State Department official Richard Armitage to the late Robert Novak? Lefties swung their nooses for years over the disclosure, citing federal laws prohibiting the sharing of classified information and proscribing anyone from unauthorized exposure of undercover intelligence agents.

My guess is—take your pick between options two and three. If you’re surprised by my analysis, then you haven’t been paying attention to what has happened, and is happening, to the United States. Let me roll out some facts and figures for you. The SEIU (Service Employees International Union) is run by Andy Stern, a militant Far-Left thug, and Anna Burger, another Far-Left radical. The SEIU has increased its size and power through, arm-twisting intimidation tactics, and other nefarious means. Two years ago Obama said before an SEIU rally, “I’ve spent my entire adult life working with SEIU.” That is not good news. Once you’ve looked into the corruption, ruthlessness, and Far-Left agenda of the SEIU leadership, you will know that it is not good news at all. Obama has appointed two stalwart friends of SEIU to high level positions: Kathleen Selibus (D-Kansas) as head of the Department of Health and Human Services, and Hilda Solis to head the Department of Labor. The SEIU currently has over 2 million members. most of them are essentially unwilling inductees, but many are “true believers.” Let’s discuss ACORN. Wade Rathke, who “cut his teeth” in the Far-Left radical group SDS in the 1960s, founded ACORN, and also SEIU Local 100. These and numerous other Far-Left groups under the Rathke “umbrella” are funded by our taxpayer dollars. According to the “Sweetness and Ligh” website: “ACORN claims more than 400,000 dues-paying member families, and more than 1,200 chapters in 110 U.S. cities.” And lets not forget the hundreds of “advocacy groups” connected with Acorn: groups such as the WFP (Working Families Party),—which, according to an Associated Press report, was created in 1998 to help push the Democratic Party toward the left.” Many of our taxpayer dollars are funneled to various Far-Left organizations which, after the “bosses” get their cut, distribute the money among hundreds, possibly thousands, of groups which advocate the destruction of the United States as a free republic, and the installation of a welfare collective. That’s not hyperbole folks. It’s a con game that is going on, and has been going on for years—with the assistance of radical leftist foundations like Arca, and the Tides Foundation. Some deal, huh? Collect the money earned by some bourgeois chump, and then spend your time trying to destroy the system that enabled the chump to make the money in the first place. Sweet! My point here is that there are already a number of available thugs in place, should the Obama Administration need them. And we shouldn’t forget AmeriCorp, and the other paramilitary groups getting ready to “muscle up.” Although I’ve been talking exclusively about the Far-Left influence, I don’t want to be remiss, and forget to mention that greed, corruption, and duplicity are non-partisan vices. The right-wing has its share of snakes in the grass as well.
In Honor of 09/11, Please Fly the Flag
On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country’s worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn’t take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
There exists an explosive hot-button issue that U.S. government officials don’t want revealed to the American public; namely, that internment camps have been established—and are at the ready to detain citizens if mass insurrections occur. Under FEMA’s National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09), potential trigger events could be economic collapse, widespread bank closures, massive social unrest, or a flu pandemic. This final item led Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) to declare on August 11 that the government “might use a pandemic disease or national disaster as an excuse to declare martial law.” Renowned researcher Michel Chossudovsky addressed the mechanics of this subject in a March 19 article entitled, Preparing for Civil Unrest in America: Legislation to Establish Internment Camps on U.S. Military Bases:“How will the U.S. government face an impending social catastrophe? The chosen avenue, inherited from the outgoing Bush administration, is the reinforcement of the Homeland Security apparatus and the militarization of civilian state institutions.” Are Army bases actually being converted into detainment camps? In his September 2008 newsletter, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) pulled no punches. “Even though we know that detention facilities are already in place, [the government] now wants to legalize the construction of FEMA camps on military installations using the ever-popular excuse that the facilities are for the purposes of a national emergency.” Conservative author and former presidential candidate, Pastor Chuck Baldwin, confirms this notion in an August 11 article, Why Are Internment Camps Being Built?: “I’ve had military personnel tell me that many of the U.S. military bases that have been recently ‘closed’ are also being prepared as large-scale ‘holding areas.” To counteract these charges, some claim the “renovated bases” will simply be used to hold illegal aliens. A recent news item appeared in the Idaho Observer’s June issue: “In January 2006, it was revealed that Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg, Brown & Root (KBR), had received a $385 million contract to build detention facilities ‘for an emergency influx of immigrants.’” But to argue that their sole focus is simply on illegal immigrants doesn’t hold water because the U.S. has had an open-border policy for at least three decades. On the other hand, more likely targets for detainment would be anti-New World Order proponents, Second Amendment advocates, dissidents, people who refuse to participate in forced inoculation programs, Christians, tax protesters and those deemed “extremists” and “enemies of the state” under a recent Department of Homeland Security report on “homegrown right-wing terrorists.” To show their seriousness in pushing this agenda, Bob Unruh revealed a disturbing development on August 7 for World Net Daily: “An ad campaign featured on a U.S. Army website seeking those who would be interested in being an ‘internment/resettlement’ specialist is raising alarms across the country.” What specifically would this position entail? The description is clear: “Internment/Resettlement (I/R) specialists in the Army are primarily responsible for day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility.” Legislation introduced by representative Alcee Hastings (D-Fl.) under HR 645 would have the DHS establishing at least half a dozen national emergency centers for large-scale imprisonment of American citizens on military installations. Further, HR 645 would create a Guantanamo-style setting after martial law is declared. At that point, posse comitatus laws would be rendered non-existent, replaced by military jurisdiction over all detainees. As a result, the incarcerated would find it much more difficult to enforce their Constitutional rights to a fair trial and/or legal representation. If skeptics doubt this scenario, they need to reexamine President Obama’s own words in a May 21 speech at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. At this locale, he spoke of “prolonged detention” for all those who posed a threat to U.S. security. Even members of the liberal media were disconcerted by the implications of this proposal, including MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who questioned the “expectation of future crimes” that seemed implicit in his plan. Maddow had further suspicions about the president’s advocacy of an Orwellian Big Brother-world via the use of “preventive incarceration” to keep certain people in prison indefinitely without charge.
If ever an opportunity presented itself for some great “teachable moments,” as the President likes to say, it is the health care debate, with all the alleged “myths” being spread about the dems’ Health Care Bill by us right wing fanatics who think that the Bill will lead to:
*a government takeover of a huge segment of the economy;
*rationed care, especially for the elderly and the very ill;
*skyrocketing costs; and
*a huge increase in the already gargantuan deficit.
But despite all his (choreographed) townhall appearances before (hand-picked adoring crowds of pro-Obama) American citizens, our President does not assail these supposed myths one by one, teaching us why people’s fears are misplaced. The President is a lawyer, and should know how to argue his case to the American people. But we hear no substantive discussion of the facts from him, just generalities and promises, and, as always, ridicule of those who dare to disagree. As trial lawyers know, if the facts are with you, you argue the facts. If they’re not, you argue the credibility of the opposition. The facts are not on Obama’s side, and so he and his allies have set about attacking the character of the opposition. So far we’ve been called:
*rude and uncivil;
*shills for insurance companies or radical groups;
*Nazis;
*racists who hate Obama because he’s black (even though undoubtedly a goodly percentage of protesters voted for him and/or supported him after his election);
*un-American;
*mindless enough to believe patently untrue “myths”;
*laughable;
*brainwashed by evil cable news channels; and, LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
*”wee-wee’d up.”

18,000 people on Facebook are calling for a boycott of the nationwide grocery store chain Whole Foods. It has to do with the debate over health care. Now, apparently, the CEO of Whole Foods who says we do need health care reform is not as liberal as some of his progressive clientele. John Mackey, who is the CEO of Whole Food who has been running the company, started the company in Austin Texas, about 30 years. In an op-ed in the WSJ, he said here are eight ideas as a successful CEO that I have, including tort reform, allowing insurers cross state lines, self-directed ideas. And yet he is vilified by some of the more liberal followers out there of the president’s plan. The individuals who signed up to boycott are waging war against Whole Foods. They are calling him a right-wing zealot.
Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, in 2007,said he had enough money to live comfortably, cut his salary down to $1 a year, and donated all of the proceeds from his stock option to charity. This does not sound like a guy who wants to stick it to the poor when it comes to health care. He had a different idea, and that was what was in the “Wall Street Journal.” He is a self-described libertarian. And I do not know if that was angered some people. Not only was he taking $1, but he pushed this through, Greta, a $100,000 need-based fund for Whole Foods workers. Heretofore this has been considered a relatively progressive company. Now he comes out and says the government-run plan is not the way to go. And he is absolutely being slaughtered on the left side of the blogosphere. He employs thousands of people. So I propose a reverse boycott. Everyone go to Whole Foods.

Fraud investigators arrested nine people on Wednesday over a suspected £38m carbon credit trading scam in one of the clearest signs yet of criminals targeting international schemes to combat climate change. Trading in carbon credits – allowances for companies to produce greenhouse gases – has been dogged by problems, from legal but ethically dubious practices to alleged scams involving fictitious products. Anand Doobay, a partner at Peters & Peters, a City-based law firm specialising in financial crime, said the ethereal nature of the fast-expanding multi-billion dollar international market in carbon credits had made them an attractive target for graft: “There is an increasing amount of fraud connected with them as a commodity. It’s trading with something that’s intangible, and that isn’t regulated in the way some other commodities are.”

Up until a few years ago, I was happy filling my life with personal issues of family, work, home. Then, I began to notice our once great country is run by a government which has no respect for the Constitution and no respect for us, it's citizens. I realize now it is up to folks like me to change this. I am only one person, but through this blog it is my hope to point out to ordinary Americans how our rights, our liberty, is being threatened. My belief is by shining a bright light, we as a people can begin to peacefully remove the power hungry, self serving autocrats running our government. This is not about one party or another.
