Soldier Defends America Against Those That Would Misrepresent the Articles of the Constitution

This is a must see 1+ minute video of a soldier defending the Constitution at Claire McCaskill’s townhall. Notice the crowd’s reaction. Uplifting!

Obama Goes Postal, Lands in Dead-Letter Office from Caroline Baum at Bloomberg.com

UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” — Barack Obama, Aug. 11, 2009
No institution has been the butt of more government- inefficiency jokes than the U.S. Postal Service. Maybe the Department of Motor Vehicles. The only way the post office can stay in business is its government subsidy. The USPS lost $2.4 billion in the quarter ended in June and projects a net loss of $7 billion in fiscal 2009, outstanding debt of more than $10 billion and a cash shortfall of $1 billion. It was moved to intensive care — the Government Accountability Office’s list of “high risk” cases – – last month and told to shape up. (It must be the only entity that hasn’t cashed in on TARP!) That didn’t stop President Barack Obama from holding up the post office as an example at a town hall meeting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, last week. What he did instead was conjure up visions of long lines and interminable waits. Why do we need or want a health-care system that works like the post office? What’s more, if the (Post Office) is struggling to compete with private companies, as Obama implied, why introduce a government health-care option that would operate at the same disadvantage? Impromptu Obamanomics is getting scarier by the day. For all the president’s touted intelligence, his un-teleprompted comments reveal a basic misunderstanding of capitalist principles. For example, asked at the Portsmouth town hall how private insurance companies can compete with the government, the president said the following:
“If the private insurance companies are providing a good bargain, and if the public option has to be self-sustaining — meaning taxpayers aren’t subsidizing it, but it has to run on charging premiums and providing good services and a good network of doctors, just like any other private insurer would do — then I think private insurers should be able to compete.”
Self-sustaining? The public option? What has Obama been doing during those daily 40-minute economic briefings coordinated by uber-economic-adviser, Larry Summers?

US School District to Begin Microchipping Students by David Gutierrez

A Rhode Island school district has announced a pilot program to monitor student movements by means of radio frequency identification (RFID) chips implanted in their schoolbags. The Middletown School District, in partnership with MAP Information Technology Corp., has launched a pilot program to implant RFID chips into the schoolbags of 80 children at the Aquidneck School. Each chip would be programmed with a student identification number, and would be read by an external device installed in one of two school buses. The buses would also be fitted with global positioning system (GPS) devices.

Obama’s State Department Submits to Islam by American Thinker (in case you missed yesterday’s late addition)

Here is but the latest act of submission to Islam by your State Department. A State Department cable has just been sent out with this announcement:
The Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) has assembled a range of innovative and traditional tools to support Posts’ outreach activities during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Here, in contrast, is the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The State Department’s Ramadan programs are wide-ranging. “On August 10,” the cable continues, “America.gov will publish a ‘Multicultural Ramadan’ feature. American Muslims trace their ancestry to more than 80 countries and the feature will highlight the richness of these various cultural traditions through the lens of Ramadan and Eid. Content will include essays by young Muslims who are part of Eboo Patel’s Interfaith Youth Core (IYC). Contact: Alexandra Abboud (AbboudAM@state.gov).” There’s more! The Bureau of International Information Programs “will publish three articles for Ramadan 2009 addressing the concept of an Islam in America ‘brand’; advocacy (civic and political) of the Muslim American community; and community innovation/community building. The writer will contact Muslim American experts in each of these fields. These articles will be available on America.gov in English, Arabic, and Persian.”
The main publication is Being Muslim In America: “Conceived as IIP’s flagship print publication on the rich and varied experiences of the nation’s growing Muslim population, this lavishly illustrated new book links the Muslim-American experience to those of other American racial, religious, and immigrant groups as they moved into the American ‘mainstream.'”
Can you imagine every Embassy and consulate putting up a Menorah and having some Rabbis as speakers via a webcast? Can you imagine if we had the Stations of the Cross put on the walls of all of our embassies, consulates, and other posts, as well as the many Department of State buildings across the country, including C Street? Why aren’t priests, pastors, etc. invited during Christmas to give blessings or talk about Christianity in the United States? Can you imagine if the Buddha were revered and we had some monks coming to do a meditation session with all of the officers of each embassy, consulate, etc.? Can we get printed and distributed Hare Krishna posters for all of our posts, so as to reach massive audiences? I mean, put it in reverse and see how crazy it is. Absolutely nuts.
Perhaps this is an initiative of President Barack Obama’s newly created Office for Outreach to the Ummah at State. In June Obama had the Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, at the White House. Ihsanoglu urged Obama to appoint a U.S. ambassador to the Islamic world – and Obama immediately created a new State Department Office for Muslim Outreach, with a Muslim woman, Farah Pandith, serving as the new U.S. Special Representative for Muslim Outreach. In keeping with Obama’s U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project, a charter of dhimmitude, we are to be conditioned to respect Muslim immigrants and accept their culture.

Misleading The Public: How Social Security Really Works and Why We Are In Trouble… from Heritage.org
http://www.heritage.org/Research/SocialSecurity/em940.cfm

…The Social Security trust fund is merely an accounting device filled with IOUs that future taxpayers must repay. Far too soon, payroll taxes will be insufficient to pay all of the promised benefits. Unless Congress promptly takes action, taxpayers will have to pump hundreds of billions of additional tax dollars into Social Security to pay the promised benefits…

Furthermore, huge impending deficits are only one of the problems facing Social Security. The sad reality is that millions of workers receive a dismal rate of return on their Social Security retirement taxes. Making matters worse, the current program does not enable workers to build up investments and cash savings to supplement their monthly Social Security checks.
THE INFLUENCE GAME: Stand-ins hold lobbyist spots from AP

Rose and Zine Hosein have stand-up jobs—and get paid $15 an hour for it. The 60-something couple have the ultimate niche occupation in Washington’s influence economy, holding places in line for lobbyists outside crowded congressional hearing rooms. In Washington, where access often equals action, lobbyists consider it crucial to attend congressional hearings or similar meetings in person. It’s here that they can speak directly with key lawmakers and their staff during breaks or after the hearing. They can also see who else is in the audience and pick up subtle hints about how a lawmaker may be leaning on a subject critical to their clients. Outside a recent health care hearing, the Hoseins were among dozens of placeholders awaiting their customers. Some leaned against the wall. Others looked like limousine drivers, carrying white signs with the names of people or organizations that they were holding places for. Some consider the practice—started roughly 20 years ago—as unfair, another advantage of big money in the government’s policy-making process. Those who can’t afford a placeholder or who can’t get in line hours early may be denied a seat to watch Congress conduct the public’s business.

Guarding the Constitution from Glenn Beck
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/28536/
As we sit here and watch government run healthcare, Cap & Tax, more tax hikes, stimulus bills, bailouts, etc etc — if you STILL believe that our Constitution isn’t under attack, well, then you’ve probably never read it. This isn’t what America is about and this isn’t just Obama. It’s been a gradual rise in government power over decades that has accelerated in Bush’s 2nd term and now Obama’s 1st term. What can you do about it? Glenn explains how we got here, where we are and what we can do about it all this week in his recently released series of letters. Part I from Monday http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/28451/  We stand at cross-roads as a country.  Where we eventually end up will be determined by the decisions each of us makes today and in the weeks and months ahead.

Over 400 People Rally Against Cap-and-Trade on AFP’s Hot Air Tour

Americans For Prosperity’s Hot Air Tour in Indianapolis, Indiana, held in conjunction with their Patients First Bus Tour.  They had over 400 activists come out on a hot and humid day to send Senator Bayh a message to vote NO on the massive hidden energy tax known as Cap-and-Trade and Government Run Health Care. Almost every one also signed our petitions and made a call to Senator Bayh’s office to tell him they do not want any more government take over of the free market. These are real grassroots Americans who drove from hours away while taking time off from work and family to make their voices heard. Next up on their swing of the Hot Air Tour we’ll be in Ohio (Dayton and Zanesville) and Virginia (Bluefield and Roanoke).

Houston We Have A Problem: Her name is Lisa Falkenberg

A left wing journalist did a hit piece on Peter Fleckenstein. Another case of the left attacking the citizens of this country. Lisa Falkenburg, you are part of the problem. Using deceit to win over the public to your point of view. Just like the Obama Administration and Politicians in Washington. Thing is, people are smarter than you give them credit for, dear. It’s hard to win when you are fighting against the truth. Check out the link above for the tactics she and others of her ilk use to discredit citizens in main stream media outlets.

Did Obama Say We Should Kill the Old Folks to Save Money Last Night? By Warner Todd Huston

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/12312

I am wondering when the euthanasia folks are going to start touting this one? I mean, it sure seemed to me as if the most caring, most civil, most intelligent president evah just said that healthcare could be cheaper if we don’t give old folks and the infirm the full measure of care they now get. It appeared that Obama said we should just let them die or suffer because they aren’t worth the effort. Imagine if Bush had said something like this? The left wouldn’t have hesitated to call him any manner of names.

Vote Coming to Confirm Anti-gun Radical ..article from gunowers.org

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled a Wednesday vote on a State Department nominee who supports gun control on a global scale. While advocates of the Second Amendment have come to expect that appointees of President Barack Obama would be hostile to the rights of gun owners, the president’s nominee for legal advisor to the State Department reaches a whole new level of anti-gun extremism.

Barney Frank asks Fannie/ Freddie to relax loan standards again.. this time for condos

EPA Purposely Omits From Record Disenting Evidence

The Competitive Enterprise Institute has obtained internal EPA e-mails that show the agency willfully and recklessly disregarded scientific data that undermined the bureaucracy’s global warming zealotry. This information is especially relevant as Congress rushes to pass the cap-and-trade nightmare on Friday.

Part 5: Who holds REAL control – Lobbyists
In addition to campaign contributions to elected officials and candidates, companies, labor unions, and other organizations spend billions of dollars each year to lobby Congress and federal agencies. Some special interests retain lobbying firms, many of them located along Washington’s legendary K Street; others have lobbyists working in-house. Opensecrets.org has totals spent on lobbying, beginning in 1998, for everyone from AAI Corp. to Zurich Financial.
